Nena F. Sanders, PhD, RN, FAAN

Dr. Nena Sanders is known nationally as a transformational leader in nursing administration, education, and consulting. As co-founder of Strategic Dynamics, Inc., Dr. Sanders provided executive healthcare consulting services to over 50 healthcare organizations. At UAB School of Nursing, she served as coordinator of the nation’s largest interdisciplinary nursing administration program. In 2001, Dr. Sanders was selected as Dean of Samford University’s Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing. Under her leadership the school experienced record growth.

When Samford University made the decision to create the College of Health Sciences to include the schools of nursing and pharmacy, as well as two new schools of health, Dr. Sanders was selected Vice Provost. This was a “crowning jewel” of an incredible career. Dr. Sanders serves as chair-elect of the St. Vincent’s Health System Board of Directors and recently received the “Women of Impact Award” from Momentum, Alabama’s premier leadership program.
