AHHOF Appoints New Chairman:

With the recent retirement of Wayne H. Finley, PhD, MD, from the AHHOF Board of Directors, George C. Smith, MD, has been named chairman of the organization.  A native of Lineville, Alabama, Dr. Smith is widely known in Alabama medical circles and has strong statewide connections.  He is a 2014 AHHOF Honoree, and past President of the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians; Chair of the Board of Censors of MASA; Chairman of the Alabama State Board of Medical Examiners; and Chairman of the State Committee of Public Health.  Dr. Smith is a recipient of MASA's Garber Galbraith Medical-Political Award, and the Martha Myers Role Model Award from the University of Alabama.

New Board Member Appointed

We are pleased to announce the addition of our latest Board Member, Arlene H. Morris, RN, MSN, EdD.  Dr. Morris' academic record, publishing accomplishments and involvement in professional associations make her a valuable addition to the organization's governing board.  Dr. Morris currently serves as Professor of Nursing, Auburn Mongomery, and has served as President of the Alabama State Nurses Association (2012-2014).  She received her doctorate in nursing from Auburn University.
